NiMet Organizes Capacity Building Workshop to Boost Service Excellence

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) recently held a two-day capacity building workshop in Keffi, Nasarawa State, aimed at enhancing service delivery across its operations. The workshop brought together SERVICOM Desk Officers from NiMet offices nationwide to strengthen their understanding of customer-focused service and reinforce their role in advancing the SERVICOM initiative — a Federal Government programme promoting efficient public service.
Representing the Director-General, Professor Charles Anosike, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Funke Adebayo Arowojobe, emphasized that the workshop was designed to equip officers with practical tools for achieving service excellence in line with NiMet’s strategic goals. Key topics covered included the fundamentals of SERVICOM, the importance of service charters, and effective public service delivery.
Mrs. Arowojobe encouraged participants to apply the insights gained to raise service standards and bridge the gap between the agency and the public. She stressed that SERVICOM Desk Officers play a vital role in building public trust through transparency, accountability, and efficiency — core values that NiMet remains committed to.
