In continuation of its efforts to improve staff performance through capacity building, the management of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) is currently conducting a training titled “Ethics and Performance Management.” The training began on Thursday, 15th May and will end on Wednesday, 21st May 2025. It is targeted at staff on Grade Levels 10–12 across the country, with a total of 642 participants from all zones.
Breakdown of Participation by Zone:
1. Enugu Zone (Edo,Akwa Ibom, Abia, Imo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Delta,Ebonyi, Anambra & Enugu) – Completed | Participants: 92
2. Keffi Zone (Abuja, Niger, Kogi, Benue, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Plateau) – Completed | Participants: 302
3. Bauchi Zone ( yobe,Gombe,Taraba,Borno, Adamawa,Bauchi) – Completed | Participants: 42
4. Kano Zone (Katsina,Jigawa, Sokoto, Zamfara,Kebbi, Kano.)– Completed | Participants: 117
5. Lagos Zone (Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara, Lagos) – Completed | Participants: 89
According to Dr. Nasiru Sani, Director of Human Resource Management and Administration, the two-day training is part of the agency’s renewed human capital development initiative. He emphasized that continuous training and re-training of staff lead to increased motivation and productivity.
