NAF COMMENDS NiMet for SERVICE DELIVERY
The Director-General of NiMet, Prof. Sani Abubakar Mashi welcomes the Director of Air Traffic Services of NAF headquarters, AVM. B. Garba, who was on a courtesy visit to NiMet headquarters, Abuja.
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has received accolades for its contributions to the success of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) missions and operations especially in Sambisa, Northern Nigeria and other West African countries.
The commendation came when the Director of Air Traffic Services at NAF headquarters, AVM. B. Garba paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of NiMet, Prof. Sani Abubakar Mashi in Abuja, to deliver to him a good will message on his appointment as DG/CEO of NiMet and to solicit further cooperation between the two organizations.
While welcoming AVM B. Garba, Prof. Mashi reiterated NiMet’s commitment to providing weather information for the safety of lives and property of Nigerians and for sustainable development.
He recounted the areas of collaboration between NiMet and NAF and pledged continuous support to NAF while assuring of his preparedness to assist further, in boosting the capacity of Nigerian Air Force personnel.
The Director of Air Traffic Services praised NiMet for facilitating its air services by providing specialized weather information that enabled the Nigerian Air Force achieve success in its operations notably, its exploits in ECOMOG and recently in Sambisa.
He however solicited further assistance of NiMet in developing the capacity of Nigerian Air Force personnel in the area of Meteorology.
NiMet has, over the years, trained over 500 Air Force personnel.
